When I went with Diane Larson to interview Danielle Dressel I knew it would be emotional. As a mother of two kids, I can not imagine what she has been going through these past couple of months. I have to admit that I was in tears listening to her story, hearing how her children have reacted to losing a father/step-father. I am amazed at her courage and strength and am honored that I was able to help tell her story to Toledo.
The 2004 Fiesta Bowl in Tempe, AZ
Only a handful of women work as photojournalists in the Toledo news market, and I am one of them! I joined the 13 ABC team as a full time photographer in 1996, and have since covered stories in some very exciting places. I've been on the Academy Awards red carpet twice, interviewing celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Lopez and Ellen DeGeneres. I've been behind the scenes on the New York City set of 'One Life to Live' as Susan Ross Wells filmed a scene, and got the backstage look at the world of soap opera magic. I even accompanied former sports anchor Katrina Hancock to Tempe, Arizona as The Ohio State Buckeyes defeated Kansas for the Fiesta Bowl title in 2004. My daily work with WTVG also incorporates some of the most interesting sights and sounds - I've been inside the operating room for a Lap Band surgery, a kidney transplant and even open-heart surgery. I also shoot and edit all your favorite weekend morning segments - "What a Zoo!", "What's Growing in the Garden" and "Art Scene".
